At 84% percent, this essentially is a Cabernet Sauvignon from arguably Washington state’s most exclusive neighborhood for Cab. After all, Dick Beightol’s Phinny Hill just is across the highway from famed Champoux Vineyards. It’s a stylish red from the Horse Heaven Hills, bringing a theme of black cherry, blackberry from the Syrah (16%) and plum skins with toasted oak, dark chocolate and black olive. The fluid’s texture is rich, dark, smooth and succulent, finished with bittersweet chocolate tannins, blueberry acidity and black licorice.
